CONFIDENTIALITY
All information shared within the therapeutic relationship is treated as strictly confidential. No verbal or written content will be shared with any third party without your prior, informed, and written consent - except where there is a legal or ethical obligation to break confidentiality, including the following circumstances:
1. Duty to Warn and Protect
If you disclose a plan or threat to harm yourself, I am obliged to notify your next of kin and/or legal authorities. In the case that your plan or threat to harm another person, I am required to warn the possible victim and/or notify legal authorities.

2. Abuse of Children and Vulnerable Adults
If you disclose, or it is suspected that there is abuse or harmful neglect of children or vulnerable adults (i.e. the elderly, disabled/incompetent) I must report this to the appropriate authorities.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation of an appointment. If for any reason a session is canceled less than 24 hours prior, the full fee will be charged.
My cancellation policy reflects my view that therapy is a commitment which needs to be taken seriously. You’ll find that except for scheduled holidays and vacation, I also don’t cancel sessions (except for the rare emergency) or book somebody else over your session time.
If you need to reschedule your appointment time and give me enough notice, I’ll often be able to offer an alternative time, though this cannot be always guaranteed.
ARRIVAL AND LATE ATTENDANCE
Although my practice has a waiting room available, I need to ensure confidentiality with all clients and therefore would not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than your scheduled appointment. Similarly, in order to ensure consistency and reliability of scheduled appointments, any late arrivals will not have their length of appointment extended.
